Uninhabited islands, secluded coves, torch-lit feasts, and stunning underwater scenery that can only be experienced here in this pristine realm.
Voyage Dates: July 2024
Embarking from: Vava’u, Kingdom of Tonga
Sailing to: Mounu Island, Hunga, Kapa Island, Vak a’eitu, and more
About the Voyage: Back in 1773, Captain James Cook called Tonga ‘the Friendly Islands’ and nothing has changed about the warm welcome you can expect today – a twenty-course torch-lit Tongan feast is only the start of the hospitality! Neiafu, the capital of Vava’u, is the ideal starting point for exploring the archipelago of fifty remote islands on an unforgettable Tongan sailing adventure. Picture unbeatable diving, awe-inspiring snorkeling with Humpback whales, treks through lush jungles, and strolls along golden sand beaches. You’ll sail among uninhabited islands, relax in secluded coves, dance to torchlight on the beach, and take in the wildlife and underwater scenery that can only be experienced here in this untouched realm of the South Pacific.

Our captain exceeded my expectations with what we were able to see, and where we visited. He was so knowledgeable about the area, the sea life as well as the moorings and anchorages. He was also extremely attentive to everyone’s needs and put together an awesome itinerary. I plan on going back again, and again!

You can stay up to date on the latest travel advisories for your destination at the US State Department Travel Advisories website.
Voyage dates eligible for Free Re-booking would be re-booked for your same destination within one year of your initial departure date. If further alerts are issued that again prevent travel, the Free Re-booking offer would be extended an additional year.

Although vaccines are not required, we encourage all guests to be up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines, when eligible, and carry proof of vaccination. Guests are considered fully vaccinated if they have received their final dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine or the appropriate booster at least 14 days prior to the sailing day (not counting embarkation day).
Although not required, we encourage unvaccinated Guests to take a COVID-19 test 3 days prior to their voyage.
Please be aware that health and safety measures may change at any time.
We know that in today’s world travel plans can change without notice. That’s why Travel Insurance for Health and Trip Cancellation is important to consider during travel planning. With a policy that covers travel expenses, your Sail Around The World booking fees can be reimbursed to you should unforeseen circumstances prevent you, or members of your traveling party, from joining the voyage.
Sail Around The World does not require proof of travel insurance as a pre-requisite for boarding, however, some destinations may require travel insurance and/or travel medical insurance as a prerequisite for entry into their country. It is the responsibility of each Guest to verify updated travel and entry protocols to determine what type of travel insurance, if any, is required for their destination.
Note that Travel Insurance and Travel Medical Insurance are different types of coverages. Depending upon the provider, these two coverages can be combined into one policy.
Because travel insurance may be optional based on destination, and each Guest may opt-in or out of different types of coverages, the cost of coverage is not included in the Voyage Fare.
For convenience, here are a number of travel insurance providers for review, but there are many others.* Check with your insurance agent for details.
